Church Big Day

Dear friends and family,

Summer time in Wyoming is a wonderful time of year that allows us to spend time in the great outdoors and enjoy all that nature has to offer in our great city and state. One of the great joys of summer is spending time with family and friends and enjoying their fellowship around outdoor activities that can be done in the summer. I encourage you to take full advantage of this time of year and fellowship with your family and friends.

Fellowship and spending time with one another also extends to our church family. One of the reasons the early church was so successful is they understood the value of fellowshipping with one another. In Acts 2:42, we see this truth illustrated in this verse: “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Fellowship allows us to develop spiritual and physical bonds that produce unity and oneness that causes us to pull together and stick together when the wind blows and the thunder rolls and lighting appears on the horizon. It is spending time together in church worshipping God and also time away from church fellowshipping that allows us to get to know one another and develop relationships that are meaningful and lasting. These relationships in turn produce unity and oneness, which in turn bring the anointing and power of God that produce the blessings in our lives.

On July 18 we are having a Church Fellowship at the base that is designed to give our families in the church the time to have fun and fellowship together, which will allow us to get to know one another to a greater degree. I would like to encourage you to make plans to attend this fellowship. If you have not signed up or need more information, please contact our church office at 638-8880 and ask for Lori or speak to Pastor Gil at church. Along with food and fellowship, there will be fun activities such as fishing, horseshoes and volleyball, and there is also a play ground for small children. Fellowships such as this one are important activities that allow us to build relationships that are meaningful and lasting.

Something that helps draw us closer in fellowship with God is being baptized in water. On July 25th we will be having a Water Baptism Service at 10:15 a.m. The Bible explains we are baptized into Christ. We are also baptized into His death; all of our sins are nailed to the cross. This revelation will free us from all guilt when we realize every sin we have ever committed has been washed away. Going under the water is a type of being buried with Christ in death. Coming out of the water is a type of being raised alive with Christ. If you have not taken this step in your walk with Christ, there are two ways you can sign up. One way to sign up is to fill out the form in the bulletin; the other way is to call the church office.

I look forward to fellowshipping with you and our church family on July 18. We will also have other opportunities coming up in the near future. One activity is Homecoming 2010 on Sunday, August 29. Please mark your calendar and make plans to be at church that Sunday. Keep an eye on your bulletin for more details. I thank God for our church family and I am looking forward to all that God has for us as we continue to follow His plan and do His will.

God Loves You and So Do I,

          Pastor Marcus
