^{_{The story of Cheyenne Christian Center begins with Pastors Jerry and Opal Dice in 1997. At that time Pastor Jerry was the pastor of a church in Iowa that he had also pioneered several years earlier. During this time the Lord spoke to his heart about moving to Cheyenne; to plant a Spirit-Filled church that would have a vision of “Building Faith for Today and for Tomorrow”. Pastors Jerry and Opal were obedient to the call and moved to Cheyenne in the summer of 97. Living by faith and the call of God on their lives they began Cheyenne Christian Center in February of 1998.}}

            ^{_{Building the church on a foundation of “Building Faith for Today and for Tomorrow, Faith for Salvation, Faith for Maturity and Faith for Service” the church began to grow. As the church grew it moved to its current location at 320 West 23rd St. in the winter of 2004. This was a project of faith for a church of this size and age, and with God’s grace the building was remodeled and the church grew and flourished. During this growth a Bible School was established, Cheyenne Bible Training Center, to equip believers with the necessary tools to evangelize the world. The church continued to flourish to a membership of over a 100 when Pastors Jerry and Opal knew that their “Grace” for the church was coming to a completion. In September of 2006 the search for God’s couple to take the church into its next phase began. Little did they know that there search would take them to a couple in Birmingham, Alabama.}}

            ^{_{In the fall of 2006 Pastors Marcus and Paige Whitman were serving at a church in Birmingham, that Marcus had been a part of for 23 years. Being led of the Lord, Marcus pulled up a website that was advertising a church in Cheyenne, Wyoming in need of a pastor. Immediately Marcus and Paige had a witness that this was the place the Lord would have them move to and continue their work in the ministry. They were hired the first of November and moved from Alabama to Wyoming in a blizzard to assume the Pastorate of Cheyenne Christian Center on January 1, 2007.}}

            ^{_{The church continued to grow as Pastors Marcus and Paige continued the work that God the Father had begun with Pastors Jerry and Opal. The vision of “Building Faith for Today and Faith for Tomorrow” has continued with our current mission statement, “Save em, Grow em, and Send em”. Pastor Marcus has a vision to rise up a church family that has a heart for the lost (Save ‘em), a desire to grow in grace (Grow ‘em) and to serve one another and the world out of a heart of love (Send ‘em). Cheyenne Christian Center is a family church that provides a place for everyone to become connected through our membership program “Connections”. This is accomplished through our Connection Bible Studies and Fellowships as well as our Deacons Ministry that is present to serve the members of the church.}}

            ^{_{Cheyenne Christian Center’s current Leadership Team consist of a Trustee Board,  Church Staff and Deacons. The Trustee Board is composed of members from the church and ministers who help the Pastor oversee and direct the business of the church. This gives the church a sense of accountability and plurality in decision making that provides balance and direction. The church currently has a staff of 10 that help the Pastor implement both the business and ministry plan of the church. The staff currently consist of individuals who oversee, Nursery & Preschool, Children’s Church, Youth, Music and other ministry areas. The Deacons Ministry is composed of couples in the church who help serve the needs of the congregation while helping the Pastor connect to each member within the church. With a unified ministry team and vision Cheyenne Christian Center is ready to minister to the people of the city of Cheyenne, the state of Wyoming and the World as we look to “Save em, Grow em & Send em”}}
